government-public-serviceMLI provides multicultural and diversity education and training to government and other public service professionals to provide them with the information and tools they need in order to provide culturally appropriate, and respectful communication, services and programs, and to foster the best possible outcomes for all persons. In doing so, professionals also will be able to work towards providing just and equal services, and to reduce and eliminate the preventable inequalities that exist within and amongst groups and communities.

Through education, we attempt to transform the personal, organizational and environmental factors that underlie these institutional disparities and to promote positive changes.

The following services are available to governmental and public services professionals:

  • Multicultural and Diversity Education and Training
  • Assistance for staff and agencies in meeting needs for credentialing, staff development or other contact hours in areas such as Special Populations, Cultural Competency or Diversity.
  • Technical Assistance on assessing agency or staff needs, establishing a cultural competency committee or cultural competence planning overall.
  • Training on site and at MLI’s offices

CLIENTS:
MLI has served employees of the State of CT Department of Corrections and the U.S. Department of Justice. We are also available for local governments to deliver trainings and/or technical assistance.
